AI & Automation Technical Lead - 12 month FTC

Arcas Technology is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading not‑for‑profit organisation that is embarking on an exciting digital transformation journey. They are seeking am AI & Automation Technical Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping how AI and automation are adopted across the organisation. This is a unique chance to lead the technical aspects of AI and automation projects within a forward‑thinking organisation. You’ll be at the forefront of identifying high‑value use cases, developing proof‑of‑concept solutions, and embedding successful tools into everyday operations. Beyond the technology, you’ll help foster a culture of experimentation, upskilling colleagues, and ensuring AI delivers measurable business value. Key Responsibilities • Lead experimentation and prototyping of AI/automation solutions. • Identify, prioritise, and deliver AI use cases that improve efficiency and working practices. • Provide technical guidance to internal innovation communities and pilot groups. • Collaborate with external vendors and advisors to evaluate and implement solutions. • Document outcomes, build business cases, and evidence ROI. • Advise on AI strategy, governance, and future resourcing needs. • Manage vendor relationships and oversee the technical budget for the AI workstream. • Promote knowledge‑sharing and support colleagues in developing AI skills. Essential experience includes: • Leading AI/automation or data‑driven projects from concept to delivery. • Driving technology adoption and organisational change. • Managing projects/programmes and collaborating with external vendors. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and related automation tools. • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex AI concepts to non‑technical audiences. • A curious, innovative mindset with the ability to foster a culture of experimentation.
