Senior Web Developer

Senior Web Developer - Financial Services - £75,000 - Remote

Arcas Technology is partnered with a leading Financial Services company who are currently looking for an experienced Web Developer to join their business on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of business applications and services to facilitate business growth, in support of the business’s technology-oriented strategy. Applying technical knowledge, skills and experience; to increase the innovation and success of the IT Development function.

Key Accountabilities

  • Understand the needs of the business and how the systems you are asked to work on meet these needs.
  • Responsibility for the quality of your own work and that of the team you are working with, ensuring that work is delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Work closely with members of the development group to deliver business benefit and value, ensuring the success of all members of the team.
  • Work with members of the development team, with the aim to continually improve the efficiency and quality of work provided by the team. Supplying innovative ideas and suggestion for improvement in working practices, tools and technologies used by the team.
  • Provide designs and guidance for other members of the team and take responsibility for the implications of design decisions.
  • Work closely with user representatives to clarify business requirements and finalise user interfaces.

Key Technology experience required:

Essential:

  • HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript
  • Frontend MVVM framework React, with Redux
  • Backend API framework Express.js
  • Communication technologies - SOAP, REST API

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of test driven development or outside-in development (TDD, DDD, BDD)
  • Experience of working in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience of working in a CI/CD environment
  • Experience of MS SQL Server Development
  • Experience of C# MVC and WebAPI
  • Experience of Typescript and nest.js framework
  • Experience with IIS and Node.js

Essential Skills:

  • Good written and verbal English communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and disciplined in planning day-to-day tasks as an individual, as part of a development team and/or in partnership with others.
  • Positively manage and adapt to change, including keeping aware of the latest trends in web technologies particularly JavaScript libraries and frameworks.
  • Commercial development experience, preferably following a qualification in software development disciplines.
  • Solid experience in SOLID principles (OOD) and design patterns (creational, structural & behaviour).
  • Proven track record of delivering multiple, complex solutions, in a disciplined development environment
  • Knowledge of working with an application lifecycle management tool such as Azure DevOps.
